Weekly Reminder (June 7-June 13)

Week Events

Battleground Bonus

During this time, you will get the Sign of Battle buff which increases the amount of Honor earned from Battleground objectives and wins by 50%. Honor is used to purchase and upgrade armor, weapons, trinkets, and rings while also allowing players to Prestige up for rewards like Prestigious Bronze Courser and Alliance Enthusiast.

Pick up the weekly bonus event quest from Caretaker Kah-Toll in Oribos to acquire Glory of the Melee, Badge of Honor, and 5 Marks of Honor. For this quest you must win 4 battlegrounds.

What is a Battleground?

  • Battlegrounds are a form of large scale PvP. You can queue with up to 5 party members, or by yourself and be matched up with others.
  • Your PvP ratings are not affected by wins and losses in regular Battlegrounds, as opposed to Rated Battlegrounds
  • You can start doing Battlegrounds at level 10, with a new bracket every 10 levels.

To enter the fray, open Group Finder (hotkey: “I”) and then select the Player vs. Player tab. Next choose Quick Match, select Random Battlegrounds or Random Epic Battlegrounds, and hit the Join Battle button—you’ll be matched up with other players and sent to one of these 12 battlegrounds:

  • Alterac Valley
  • Arathi Basin
  • Ashran
  • Battle for Gilneas
  • Battle for Wintergrasp
  • Deepwind Gorge
  • Eye of the Storm
  • Isle of Conquest
  • Seething Shore
  • Silvershard Mines
  • Temple of Kotmogu
  • Twin Peaks
  • Warsong Gulch

PvP Brawl: Classic Ashran

Appearing every so often in the Brawl rotation, Classic Ashran is the Warlords of Draenor version of Ashran, with minimal changes. Throughout the Brawl, there are a few important differences between the Epic and the Brawl versions.

The Battleground does not end when Grand Marshal Tremblade or High Warlord Volrath die. Instead, the road will go on a ten minute cool-down (Gladiators will re-spawn in the ‘losing’ Faction’s base at 7 minutes) before resetting to the Crossroads. The only way the Battleground ends is when you, as a player, want to leave the instance (there is NO deserter debuff!), or one team’s player count sinks below 10 players, where a 5 minute closure timer will then start.

Darkmoon Faire – June 5-11

Step right up and prepare to be amazed! The Darkmoon Faire celebrates the wondrous, exotic, and mysterious from around Azeroth! This mist-shrouded island is a conundrum wrapped in an enigma, accessible for one week only at the beginning of each month.

Thousand Boat Bash – June 6-9

The Thousand Boat Bash, aka Boat Day, is an event in which adventurers go to Thousand Needles and enjoy a day at sea. Races from around the world come to Thousand Needles, this includes races of the Horde and the Alliance and Tuskarr.

“The citizens of Azeroth need a break. Let’s go to Thousand Needles!”
