Boralus Market (Prologue)

Boralus Market

(Prologue)

Written by Tyrman

The Kul Tiran capital as per usual was bustling with activity as the sun began to set. A hue of orange and grey casting over the constant flow of travelers from all over Azeroth (and beyond!) and merchant ships docking and unloading their precious cargo. The ports were always busy, especially since rejoining the Alliance during the start of the Fourth War. Gulls circling overhead squawking as they wait impatiently or their next meal adding to the noise of the city and the inhabitants.

Among the crowds, Lilyanabell and Tyrman Bladebreaker toddled down the cobblestone streets of Hook Point. Hook Point is located just southeast of the Proudmoore Barracks in Boralus. It is an upscale outdoor market, but some criminality spills over from the Dampwick Ward. This would not bother or worry them in the slightest. Especially once they met up with their colleagues and friends.

The Bladebreakers greeted Gizmosis Sprocketsby, Zonger ManaSpoke, Mynday Sprocketflange, and arriving just in time from the skies Crimson Fastblast.

“So, what are we here for Tyr?” Lily asked.

“We’re here to scout out the next office for G4! And it wouldn’t hurt to check out the market.” Tyrman answers with a smile. The officer has had his sights on the city for sometime. Not only for better ways of shipping products and transportation, but for fishing! He waves the others to follow as they make their way through the streets.

The market itself was filled with enticing and mouth-watering foods. From sizzling bacon to steamed vegetables, it seemed anyone could be satisfied. Already stall barkers were trying to entice the group of gnomes.

“Help! HELP! I need HELP! All of my captured specimens escaped! Please help me find them before they find their way into the ecosystem and cause all kinds of trouble!”

The sudden cry for help startled the gnomes and noticed one of their own panicking around the market. Toppling crates and shoving her way through the crowds in her search. The members of Gnomeregan Forever were eager to help.

Tammy would continue to explain she recently transported a small clutch of silithid grubs she incubated herself. The brood mates escaped their enclosure and fears they will be a hazard do the local populace and ecosystem. Informing the gnomes further that the critters were attracted to sweets, the mages of the group were quick to summon conjured mana buns. Soon enough, they found the first grub and set out to find the others!

Crimson vanishes into the shadows as he stalks for the next grub. Despite having mechanical limbs, he was undetectable and soundless. As he found his grub, the greaser quickly snatched it up and opened his chest compartment and stuffed the little silithid in before slapping it shut!

“ONE IS CHASING ME!” Mynday screamed from the fish stall as she hurried back with her overeager grub in tow.

Meanwhile, Gizmosis would calmly find yet another near a vegetable stall. Using his conjured mana biscuits, the dapper gnome would entice the friendly grub toward the others.

“Oh thank you! They’re all here! Wait… Where is the purple one?” Tammy frantically checks over each grub a third and fourth time. “That one is the meanest and toughest one of all of them! It really loves to eat meat!”

A sudden crash and scream echoes over the din of the market, “WHAT IS THAT!? IT IS EATING ALL MY SAUSAGES!”

With the speed of a fluxfire feline, the gnomes scramble to the commotion coming from the local sausage stall. The owner was desperately trying to deter a purple grub that was helping themselves to their stock. The greedy silithid was making quick work of all the delectable deep fried meats before them!

Quickly the gnomes devised a plan to not only freeze it but also lure it into a sweetened crate filled and coated with mana buns! After a final heave from everyone, they managed to get the stubborn silithid into a crate!

“Now that all the little cute babies are in one place, I can relax. You guys are the best. Maybe you could help out in Silithus? You know, where that big giant sword is? Me and the others would really appreciate it. There are a lot of critters and things acting up lately and we could use the help.”

“I suppose the G4 expansion into Boralus can wait for now… What do you say? Expedition to Silithus?” Tyrman looks to the others.

“I think an expedition would be splendid!” Gizmosis responds. Everyone agrees and is willing to help.

Tyrman knew it would be a lot of work and would require some planning. Silithus from what he has heard is still a rough place and would need preparations and supplies. It will feel good to help others again and who knows, maybe the trip will be a blast as well!
